The First Broadway/Off-Broadway Award Nominees of the Season!

Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers and commentators covering New York theater for out-of-town newspapers, national publications and other media beyond Broadway, announced today (April 23, 2012) its nominees for the 2011-12 season in 24 categories. Broadway stars Lily Rabe and Richard Thomas presided over the (11AM) announcement ceremony underwritten by Mark D. Friedman, SVP at Halstead Property LLC at Manhattan’s Friars Club.

The First Broadway/Off-Broadway Award Nominees of the Season!
April 23rd at the Friars’ Club 

Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers covering New York theatre for out-of-town newspapers, national publications and other media beyond Broadway, is proud to report that Multi Award-winning stars Lily Rabe and Richard Thomas will announce the nominees for the 2011-12 season on Monday, April 23rd (11AM) at The Friars Club (57 East 55th Street- between Park and Madison Avenues). Outer Critics Circle will post award nominations in 23 categories and are the first major Broadway/Off-Broadway award nominees of the New York theater season. In addition, the OCC will present an honorary award to The Public Theater on its 50th Anniversary presenting free theater at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. As a special treat, Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara alumni of Shakespeare in the Park and Public Theater productions will present on this day (which also happens to be Shakespeare's birthday) the special award to The Public’s Artistic Director Oskar Eustis and Executive Director Patrick Willingham.

New York, NY  (May 16, 2011) Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers and commentators for all media covering New York theatre announced today its award winners for the 2010-11 season in 23 categories.

As previously announced, based on recommendations by the OCC Executive Committee, Special Achievement Awards will be given to Ellen Barkin for her Outstanding Broadway Debut in “The Normal Heart” and Adrian Kohler with Basil Jones for Handspring Puppet Company Puppet Design, Fabrication and Direction for

"War Horse."

Charles Busch, Julie Halston, Swoosie Kurtz and Brian D'Arcy James --- will serve as presenters at the organization's 61st Annual Award ceremony on Thursday, May 26th (4PM) at Sardi's Restaurant (234 West 44th Street).

Celebrating its 61st season of bestowing awards of excellence in the field of theatre, the Outer Critics Circle, is an association with members affiliated with more than ninety newspapers, magazines, web sites, radio and television stations, and theatre publications in America and abroad.

Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers and commentators covering New York theater for out-of-town newspapers, national publications and other media beyond Broadway, announced today (April 26, 2011) its nominees for the 2010-11 season in 23 categories. Broadway stars and former Outer Critics Circle Award-winners Tyne Daly and Brian d'Arcy James, presided over the (11AM) announcement ceremony sponsored by ShowBiz411.com at Manhattan’s historic Algonquin Hotel. 

Based on a recommendation by the OCC Executive Committee,  two Special Achievement Awards will be given this year --- to Ellen Barkin for her Outstanding Broadway Debut in “The Normal Heart, ” and Adrian Kohler with Basil Jones for Handspring Puppet Company Puppet Design, Fabrication and Direction for “War Horse.”
