Aladdin will launch at Toronto’s Ed Mirvish Theatre (formerly the Canon) November 1, 2013 to January 5, 2014.  Opening night there is November 21, 2013.

Joining the previously announced Jeremy Jordan as Jack Kelly are John Dossett (2003 revival of Gypsy) as Joseph Pulitzer, Kara Lindsay (Little House on the Prairie) as Katherine Plumber, Ben Fankhauser (Spring Awakening national tour) as Davey, Andrew Keenan-Bolger (Mary Poppins) as Crutchie, and Lewis Grosso (Mary Poppins), and Matthew Schechter (Elf) alternating the role of Les. Dossett, Lindsay, Fankhauser and Keenan-Bolger will all reprise the roles they created in the Paper Mill Playhouse production last fall. Casting for the role of Medda will be announced shortly.

NEW YORK, NY –(August 30, 2011)– Broadway’s most magical musical MARY POPPINS celebrates its 2000th performance at the New Amsterdam Theatre on  Sunday, September 4.  A co-production by Disney and Cameron Mackintosh, MARY POPPINS is the third Disney Theatrical Productions show (following Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King) and the fifth Cameron Mackintosh show (joining Cats, Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera and Miss Saigon) to play 2000 or more Broadway performances.

The Broadway production of MARY POPPINS officially opened on November 16, 2006, recouping its initial Broadway investment within 52 weeks of its premiere.  MARY POPPINS is the only show from the 2006-2007 theatrical season still running. 

MARY POPPINS currently stars Olivier Award winner Laura Michelle Kelly in the title role, and Tony Award nominee Gavin Lee as Bert. The cast also features Karl Kenzler as George Banks, Megan Osterhaus as Winifred Banks, Valerie Boyle as Mrs. Brill, Ann Arvia as Bird Woman,Andrew Keenan-Bolger as Robertson Ay, Ruth Gottschall as Miss Andrew and Jonathan Freeman as Admiral Boom. Alternating in the role of Jane Banks are Rozi Baker, Brigid Harrington and Kara Oates; alternating in the role of Michael Banks are Lewis Grosso, David Gabriel Lerner and Anthony Scarpone-Lambert.

(Thursday, August 25, 2011)  Direct from the North American tour of MARY POPPINS, STEFFANIE LEIGH will make her Broadway debut in the title role, beginning performances at the New Amsterdam Theatre Tuesday, October 11. Olivier Award winner LAURA MICHELLE KELLY, The West End’s original MARY POPPINS, will play her final performance on Broadway Sunday, October 9.

Following eight months starring in the title role on the North American tour earning critical acclaim from critics nationwide, MARY POPPINS marks Steffanie Leigh’s Broadway debut. Leigh’s previous regional theatre credits include Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in ParisSeven Brides for Seven BrothersBeauty and the Beast, 42nd St., Into the Woods, Grease, Mame, and Les Miserables. She received her BFA in acting from Carnegie Mellon University.  

A co-production by Disney and Cameron Mackintosh, this stage production is based on P.L. Travers' cherished stories and the classic 1964 Walt Disney film and includes the film’s Academy Award®-winning music and lyrics by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman.  The stage production was created, in collaboration with Cameron Mackintosh, by Academy Award®-winning screenwriter Julian Fellowes, who wrote the book; Olivier Award-winning director Richard Eyre; and the Olivier Award-winning team of George Stiles and Anthony Drewe, who composed new songs and additional music and lyrics.
