(Sunday, November 10, 2013 – New York, NY) The Broadway musical BIG FISH will play its final performance on Sunday, December 29, 2013, after 34 previews and 98 regular performances at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 West 52 Street).  BIG FISH began performances on Thursday, September 5, 2013, and opened on Sunday, October 6, 2013.

BIG FISH centers on Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman who lives life to its fullest… and then some! Edward's incredible, larger-than-life stories thrill everyone around him – most of all, his devoted wife Sandra. But their son Will, about to have a child of his own, is determined to find the truth behind his father’s epic tales.  BIG FISH is about dreaming, loving and living bigger.

Directed by five-time Tony Award®  winner Susan Stroman, with music and lyrics by Grammy and Tony Award nominee Andrew Lippa, and a book by Grammy and BAFTA Award nominee John August, BIG FISH stars two-time Tony Award winner Norbert Leo Butz as Edward Bloom, Tony Award nominee Kate Baldwin as Sandra Bloom, Tony Award nominee Bobby Steggert as Will Bloom, Krystal Joy Brown as Josephine Bloom, Anthony Pierini and Zachary Unger alternating as Young Will, Ryan Andes as Karl, Ben Crawford as Don Price, and Tony Award nominee Brad Oscar as Amos Calloway. BIG FISH features JC Montgomery, Ciara Renée, Kirsten Scott and Sarrah Strimel, in a cast of 27 that includes Preston Truman Boyd, Bree Branker, Alex Brightman, Joshua Buscher, Robin Campbell, Bryn Dowling, Jason Lee Garrett, Leah Hofmann, Synthia Link, Angie Schworer, Lara Seibert, Tally Sessions, Cary Tedder and Ashley Yeater.

BIG FISH is based on the 1998 novel “Big Fish: A Novel of Mythic Proportions” by Daniel Wallace, and the 2003 critically acclaimed film from Columbia Pictures written by John August.  Directed by Tim Burton, the film starred Ewan McGregor, Albert Finney, Billy Crudup, Jessica Lange and Helena Bonham Carter, and was nominated for an Academy Award, Grammy Award, 4 Golden Globe Awards and 7 BAFTA Awards.  BIG FISH had its pre-Broadway world premiere at Chicago’s Oriental Theatre in a critically-lauded 5-week engagement from Tuesday, April 2, 2013, through Sunday, May 5, 2013. 

Tickets for BIG FISH range from $49 - $142, and are available at the Neil Simon box office or at Ticketmaster.com (866-870-2717). The playing schedule for BIG FISH is as follows: Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 8pm with matinees on Wednesday at 2pm, Saturday at 2pm and Sunday at 3pm. A limited number of student rush tickets will be available when the box office opens (10am Monday through Saturday) for that day’s performance(s).  Student rush tickets are $27 (inclusive of a $2 facility fee) and are only available in person at the Neil Simon box office. You must present a valid student ID. Limit two tickets per person.

Andrew C. McGibbon

 

 

Andrew C. McGibbon has spent the past thirty years working in live theatre as a stage manager, general manager, producer and leader in the convergence of Broadway and online.

Mr. McGibbon worked as a stage manager and general manager for ten years. In 1994 he created a website devoted to live theatre, BroadwayWorld-Wide.com. The site was subsequently bought by, and became Playbill.com. He continued to manage the site for Playbill for four years. In 2000 he became the website manager for TonyAwards.com. With the 2008-09 season he finished his ninth year on the show. He has also worked as a webmaster for the Broadway LeagueJazz at Lincoln Center, and as the Director of Digital Media for the New Jersey Performing Arts Center.

Since 2015, Andrew has been working as an architectural photographer and virtual tour photographer known for his photography of theatres such as the Kimmel Center, Tanglewood, Signature Theatre Company, Roundabout Theatre Company, Arena Stage and the Goodspeed Opera House.

Mr. McGibbon is a member of the American Theatre Critics Association, the Independent Theatre Bloggers AssociationActors' Equity Association and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, as well as the American Society of Media Photographers

In addition to his work in the theatrical industry, Mr. McGibbon is also a partner in Simple Solutions Distributing, a manufacturer of filtration equipment for the waste-water industry.
