ONCE, the Tony and Grammy Award winning Best New Musical, has announced “ONCE WEEK” Tuesday, August 20; Wednesday, August 21; Thursday, August 22 and Friday, August 23to thank the show’s loyal fans.

For four performances beginning Tuesday, August 20, ONCE will have a lottery to distribute 20 free tickets per performance.  Fans are invited to come to the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre (242 West 45th Street) for free events, prizes and a chance to win FREE tickets to the show.  

Each Day of ONCE WEEK

Enter the lottery at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre (242 W. 45th St. between Bway and 8th Ave.)each day for the chance to win free tickets to that evening's performance and to enjoy these events: 

T-Shirt Tuesday

The first 50 lottery entries will receive a ONCE t-shirt.

Trivia Wednesday 

After you enter the lottery, show off your ONCE knowledge during our pre-show trivia for the chance to win exclusive ONCE merchandise.  

Meet-the-Cast Thursday 

Enter the lottery and see a special performance by the cast of ONCE at 5:30pm outside the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre.

Meet-up with the cast and other ONCE fans after the show to celebrate in true Irish fashion with $5 Irish Coffees and $5 Smithwick Pints at Tir Na Nog (315 W. 39th St. between 8th and 9th Aves.). 

Grand Prize Friday

Enter the lottery on Friday for the chance to win tickets or be named our Grand Prize Winner.

In addition to giving out free tickets through the lottery, one Grand Prize Winner will also be chosen to receive a pair of tickets to the show, an exclusive collection of ONCE merchandise and a backstage meet-and-greet with the cast.

A limited number of tickets will be given away free of charge through a lottery. Entries will be accepted at the Bernard B. Jacobs box office beginning two and a half hours prior to each performance for up to two tickets. Two hours before curtain, names will be drawn at random for a limited number of tickets free of charge. Only one entry is allowed per person and up to two tickets are permitted per winner. Entries are checked for duplication prior to drawing. Winners must be present at the time of the drawing and show valid ID to accept the tickets. Offer may not be combined with any other offer.  Blackout dates and other restrictions may apply.  Dates, times and cast subject to change without notice. Lottery may be ended without notice. Rush will go on as usual. 

ONCE is based on the 2007 Academy Award-winning film and plays on Broadway at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre (242 West 45th Street).  The production opened to rave reviews on Sunday, March 18, 2012.

ONCE won eight Tony Awards including Best Musical.  The production was also named Best Musical by the New York Drama Critics Circle, Drama Desk, Drama League, Outer Critic Circle and Lucille Lortel Awards. 

ONCE is the winner of the 2013 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album. 

ONCE features a book by award-winning Irish playwright & screenwriter, Enda Walsh (Penelope, Hunger, The New Electric Ballroom), the Academy Award-winning music and lyrics of Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, direction by the acclaimed John Tiffany (Black Watch),movement by Steven Hoggett (Black Watch, American Idiot) and music supervision and orchestrations by Martin Lowe (Mamma Mia!).

The cast of ONCE features Arthur Darvill as 'Guy' and Joanna Christie as 'Girl.' Also in the company are Adam Wesley Brown, Laurel Griggs, David Patrick Kelly, Jillian Lebling, Katrina Lenk, Anne L. Nathan, Lucas Papaelias, Andy Taylor, Carlos Valdes, Erikka Walsh, Paul Whitty, and J. Michael Zygo.

Arthur Darvill and Joanna Christie are appearing with the support of Actors’ Equity Association.  The Producers gratefully acknowledge Actors’ Equity Association for its assistance of this production. 

ONCE is now playing in London’s West End at the Phoenix Theatre where it opened April 9 after premiering to critical acclaim in Dublin in February 2013. ONCE will begin a US national tour launched by The Road Company in the summer of 2013. 

Featuring an impressive ensemble of actor/musicians who play their own instruments onstage, ONCE tells the enchanting tale of a Dublin street musician who's about to give up on his dream when a beautiful young woman takes a sudden interest in his haunting love songs.
