New York, NY (12/7/2011)Tony Award Nominee Gavin Creel (HAIR; Thoroughly Modern Millie) and songwriter Robbie Roth have just released an all-new, original single, “Noise,” to raise funds and support for marriage equality across the country.  The song, about refusing to stay silent, standing up for what you believe in and making some “noise,” is now available for purchase on iTunes.  One-hundred percent of the proceeds raised through the sale of the single will go to benefit Broadway Impact, the grass roots organization mobilizing for marriage equality that Creel co-founded with Rory O’Malley (Tony-nominee for The Book of Mormon)and Jenny Kanelos.

{module ad_left_body}To promote the single, Creel and Roth, along with their friend and colleague, Newsies star Andrew Keenan-Bolger, created a groundbreaking new music video for “Noise.”   The music video tackles the entire history of the gay rights movement, and presents it as a pop-visual presentation.  “I’ve always been a believer in the power of art -- and music in particular -- to inspire change.  I hope this song motivates people to take action, fight complacency and stand up for what they believe in,” Creel said. “I urge everyone to help the song and its message go viral by posting it online, purchasing it as a holiday gift for others, and talking to friends and family who may not understand or believe in marriage equality, so that those people with the power to actually change our laws will hear from us.”

Broadway Impact is a community of actors, directors, stage managers, fans, producers — pretty much anyone who has ever seen, been in or worked on a Broadway show — united by the simple belief that anyone who wants to should be able to get married. It is a place for anyone and everyone out there who loves theatre, is passionate about equality, and wants to know how to sing out and make their voice heard.
