MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, the hit musical, announces a national partnership with nonprofit organization Operation Homefront that will include all three US productions of the award-winning musical; New York, Chicago and the US Tour. Million Dollar Quartet will engage in a series of special promotions and fundraising efforts that will benefit Operation Homefront - an organization that is dedicated to helping the families of our nation’s service members and wounded warriors.

{module ad_left_body}To celebrate this partnership, the New York production of Million Dollar Quartet will host a canned food drive the week of November 28, which will benefit and support Operation Homefront veterans in need during this holiday season. Patrons who donate a canned food item will receive $10 off one regular priced ticket for performances on November 30 and December 1; however, donations will be accepted all week. All donations must be made in person at the New World Stages Box Office (340 50th Street, between 8th and 9th Aves.) to receive the discount. Representatives from Operation Homefront will be on hand to help with the final day of collections.

“Just as the teamwork of these four music legends brought out the best of their individual talents for a truly remarkable performance,” said Jim Knotts, Operation Homefront’s President and CEO, “today’s MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET is using their talent and generosity to bring out the best of its audiences to help Operation Homefront better serve our nation’s military families.”

“Before gaining international success, Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash both served in the armed forces. This partnership is something that is near and dear to the heart of the show and the characters portrayed,” said the producers of Million Dollar Quartet. “It is a true honor for us to give back to those who have given us so much.“

The international smash hit musical, Million Dollar Quartet is set on December 4, 1956, when an auspicious twist of fate brought Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley together. Sam Phillips, the “Father of Rock ‘n’ Roll” who was responsible for launching the careers of each icon, brought the four legendary musicians together at the Sun Records storefront studio in Memphis for the first and only time. The resulting evening became known as one of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll jam sessions in history.

MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET brings that legendary night to life with an irresistible tale of broken promises, secrets, betrayal and celebrations featuring an eclectic score of rock, gospel, R&B and country hits including; “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Fever,” “Sixteen Tons,” “Who Do You Love?,” “Great Balls of Fire,” “Matchbox,” “Folsom Prison Blues,” “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On,” “Hound Dog,” and more.

About Million Dollar Quartet: The Chicago production of MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET opened in 2008 and is still playing to packed houses at the Apollo Theatre. The US National tour of Million Dollar Quartet recently opened at PlayhouseSquare in Cleveland and will continue onto 30 plus cities during their 2011/2012 season - more cities to be announced shortly.  MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET is produced on Broadway by Relevant Theatricals, John Cossette Productions, American Pop Anthology and Broadway Across America.
