FAT PIG Postpones Until 2011-12 Season

FAT PIG

POSTPONES BROADWAY PRODUCTION

PRODUCTION WILL NOW OPEN IN 2011-2012 SEASON

FAT PIG, which was scheduled to receive a Broadway production this spring at the Belasco Theatre, will postpone its Broadway bow until next season. The postponement is due to the last-minute fallout of a key investment. This did not leave the producers enough time to reacquire the necessary capital and begin rehearsals on schedule to open prior to the Tony Awards cutoff date.

Neil LaBute’s FAT PIG was to star Dane Cook, Josh Hamilton, Julia Stiles and Heather Jane Rolff. LaBute was also onboard as director.

In a statement, producers Aldo Scrofani and Heather Provost said: “It’s our dream to keep this terrific cast and stunning creative team intact as we work to reschedule Fat Pig for next season. The current financial situation did not leave adequate time to maintain the integrity of the show and its marketing campaign. This play deserves to be seen on Broadway and we remain very much committed to that goal.”

FAT PIG was planned to play Broadway’s Belasco Theatre (111 West 44th Street) beginning Tuesday, April 12 for an official opening on Tuesday, April 26. Those who have already purchased tickets should contact their point-of-purchase for a full refund or exchange for a different date.
