Manhattan Theatre Club Offers $30 Tickets to GOOD PEOPLE for Those Under 30 as Part of 30 UNDER 30 Ticketing Program

MANHATTAN THEATRE CLUB

AFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO DEVELOPING YOUNG AUDIENCES

WITH $30 TICKETS AVAILABLE TO EVERY PERFORMANCE OF

SMASH HIT PLAY “GOOD PEOPLE”

VIA ONGOING “30 UNDER 30” TICKETING PROGRAM

Today Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) affirmed Manhattan Theatre Club’s ongoing commitment to making affordable tickets available to young theatergoers by offering a limited number of $30 tickets to every performance of the hit play GOOD PEOPLE via MTC’s “30 Under 30” program.

“30 Under 30” is MTC’s program that offers a limited number of $30 tickets to people who are 30 years old or younger. For additional information on the program or to register for “30 Under 30,” visit: http://www.ManhattanTheatreClub.com/30Under30.

In a statement, Executive Producer Barry Grove said, “We couldn't be more thrilled with the artistic success of GOOD PEOPLE and with the full houses we've been seeing. However, it’s vitally important to everyone at MTC to make sure young people have the opportunity to see this wonderful production. When we launched “30 Under30” in 2008, we wanted to make sure younger audiences had access to affordable tickets to all of our productions and I’m thrilled that we’re able to make a number of “30 Under 30” tickets available to program members during the entirety of GOOD PEOPLE’s run at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.”

Frances McDormand, who is currently appearing in GOOD PEOPLE said, "Mix it up, says I! The best theatre experience for me as a performer and an audience member is to be with an audience that is made up of a wide variety of theatergoers. Every age, shape and color. That's what ‘30 Under 30’ is all about. Instead of buying a t-shirt that might not even be 100% cotton, come and see a ‘Grade A’ production of a new American classic, GOOD PEOPLE!"

In addition to GOOD PEOPLE, tickets to MTC’s hit Off-Broadway production of Matthew Lopez’s THE WHIPPING MAN are also available via “30 Under 30.”

INFORMATION ON GOOD PEOPLE

Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire’s GOOD PEOPLE, directed by Daniel Sullivan stars Becky Ann Baker (All My Sons, Assassins), Patrick Carroll (Broadway debut), Tate Donovan (“Damages,” Amy’s View), Emmy Award nominee Renée Elise Goldsberry (“One Life to Live,” Rent), Oscar winner Frances McDormand (Fargo, Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day, Almost Famous), and Oscar winner Estelle Parsons (August: Osage County, “Roseanne”).

Welcome to Southie, a Boston neighborhood where a night on the town means a few rounds of bingo… where this month’s paycheck covers last month’s bills… and where Margie Walsh (McDormand) has just been let go from yet another job. Facing eviction and scrambling to catch a break, Margie thinks an old fling (Donovan) who has made it out of Southie might be her ticket to a fresh new start. But is this apparently self-made man secure enough to face his humble beginnings? Margie is about to risk what little she has left to find out.

With his signature humorous glow, Lindsay-Abaire explores the struggles, shifting loyalties and unshakeable hopes that come with having next to nothing in America.

Together, David Lindsay-Abaire and MTC have brought four outstanding new plays to the New York stage. Their most recent collaboration with director Daniel Sullivan, Rabbit Hole, earned a Tony Award and garnered Lindsay-Abaire the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
