Some amazing use of digital graphics for tonight's Tony Awards.

The Phantom of the Opera currently has the largest orchestra on Broadway with 28 member!  Tune in tonight and you'll see a performance from Phantom...

11:45AM
The Lion King's Simba, introduces the cast of Pippin.  This production is spectacular and their number looks great!

11:35AM
NPH just came out and asked us to please not tweet about the details of this evening.  Obviously they want to keep as much as possible a surprise for this evening.  Mums the word!

11:30AM
You'll shoot your eye out!  So warns the cast of A Christmas Story.

11:15AM
The Rascals are rockin' the house with "Good Lovin'."

11:10AM
Andrew Rannell's from The Book of Mormon and "The New Normal" (cancelled) plays it up with Neil Patrick Harris, Laura Benanti (who has had not one but two TV series cancelled), Megan Hilty (her show "Smash" has been cancelled). Fun bit.

10:55AM
A plethora of Spider-men introduce a number from Annie.  Jane Lynch does a great job with "Little Girls."

Jane Krakowski and Jessy Tyler Ferguson are presenting Best Original Score tonight.  After Ferguson tried to pronounce Trey Anastasio, and failed, Krakowski quips, "I'm glad we came."

10:45
The cast of Motown is rockin' the house!

10:35AM
Some of the celebrity presenters aren't here this morning.  There are stand-ins for them.  When you watch the show tonight, you will probably be able to tell who didn't show up!

During the commercial breaks in the Tony Awards a great video montage was shown of tourists being asked if they had heard of Kinky Boots and Hands on a Hard Body.  Very funny stuff.

10:25AM
Cinderella has taken the stage for their number which includes "It's Possible" and "Ten Minutes Ago."  As beautiful here as it was when I first saw it.

The cast of Motown is in the house.  They went crazy when Charl Brown was announced as the winner FOR THIS REHEARSAL ONLY of the Best Performance for a featured actor in a musical Tony.

10:20AM
So glad to see a stage manager being recognized with a Tony Honor.  Congratulations Peter Lawrence!

10:00AM
Did you know that when they announce winners during the Tony Awards dress rehearsal, before they mention the winners name, they say "for this rehearsal only."

The cast of Matilda is killing!  This certainly is the year of the kid on Broadway!  Check out the Tony Awards special section for kids at here.

9:55AM

9:30AM
NPH takes a friendly jab at Tom Hooper, director of Les Miz the movie takes hit in the opening number.

Dress rehearsal beginning in :30.

Opening positions have been called for the top of the show.

Nick Scandaleous, William Ivey Long, Heather A. Hitchens and Charlotte S. Martin are making the pre-show.  Hitchens announces that CBS has renewed the Tony Awards for another 5 years.

The day started with the Tony Awards having a Google+ Hangout.   Pretty cool, it was joined by Neil Patrick Harris, Jerry Mitchell, Rob McClure, Patina Miller and others.

We have the first glimpse of the Tony Award playbill published by Where magazine.  Check out the photos below.

This morning began with the team from the KidzVuz.com and SHN team interviewing Neil Patrick Harris.  When Neil was asked about his "career hosting award shows" he commented that it would be nice if they paid more than scale, "Sandy from Annie is making more money than me."

Security is extra tight here at RCMH with all bags being checked and everyone entering being "wanded."  You can't be too careful, you never know when you might get glitter bombed.

Wednesday, June 5, 2013
As some of you know, I spent nine seasons as the Website Manager for TonyAwards.com.  I've come out of retirement briefly to help out my good friend, Ben Pesner, the Digital Content Manager for TonyAwards.com.  I have been coordinating a fun kids contest between the Tony Awards and KidzVuz.com.  Check it out here and if you aren't too old, enter your video to win some cool Broadway stuff!  I will also be escorting a team from SHN which presents Broadway in San Francisco

Tomorrow is an early morning.  I'm meeting both teams at Radio City Music Hall at 9:00AM so they can do interviews with Neal Patrick Harris.  Check back tomorrow and I will start sending out images via the Flickr gallery below.  Feel free to leave your comments below.
