Beginning performances on Tuesday, March 29, RICHARD H. BLAKE will assume the role of Fiyero in the Broadway company of WICKED.  He joins a cast which includes Teal Wicks as Elphaba, Katie Rose Clarke as Glinda, Kathy Fitzgerald as Madame Morrible, P.J. Benjamin as The Wizard, Etai BenShlomo as Boq, Jenny Fellner as Nessarose, and Tom Flynn as Dr. Dillamond.  Kyle Dean Massey, who is currently playing the role of Fiyero, will play his final performance on Sunday, March 27.

RICHARD H. BLAKE joins the Broadway company directly from the national tour of Wicked. His Broadway credits include Legally Blonde (Warner), The Wedding Singer (Glen Guglia), Hairspray (Link), Aida (Radames), Saturday Night Fever (Tony Manero), Rent (Roger), Prince of Central Park (Prince), Macbeth (Boy Macduff), The Sound of Music (Friedrich). Blake’s TV and film credits include “The Babysitter’s Club,” “All My Children,” “Toonces and Friends” and Red Light August.

BROADWAY BLOCKBUSTER GROSSES OVER $2 MILLION

MUSICAL has GROSSED over $2 billion AND BEEN SEEN BY OVER 26 MILLION PEOPLE worldwide

For the third time in just six weeks, the Broadway smash WICKED has grossed over $2 million for one week of performances.  For the week ending Sunday, November 28, the musical, now in its 8th year, grossed $2,150,665, and for the week ending December 26, the musical surpassed its own record, grossing $2,153,110.  For the week ending January 2, 2011, the musical shattered the record once again, making Broadway history by taking in an unprecedented $2,228,235 and setting a new house record at the Gershwin Theatre. 

Additionally, the show’s two North American touring productions broke box office records in Chicago ($1,726,476) and Indianapolis ($1,597,732), bringing the musical’s one-week North American box office gross to $5,552,443.

The musical, which was called “the defining musical of the decade” by The New York Times, currently has 7 productions: New York, London, Osaka (Japan), Oberhausen (Germany), and two concurrent North American National Tours, and an Australian tour.  WICKED has amassed over $2.1 billion globally in ticket sales and has been seen by over 26 million people worldwide in its 7-year history.

Beginning performances on Tuesday, February 1, 2011, TEAL WICKS will assume the role of Elphaba in the Broadway company of WICKED.  Ms. Wicks is making her Broadway debut after playing the role of Elphaba in both the San Francisco and Los Angeles productions of WICKED.  Additionally, Next to Normal’s  KYLE DEAN MASSEY will return to the Broadway company of WICKED in the role of Fiyero on Tuesday, January 25.

Ms. Wicks and Mr. Massey join a cast which includes Katie Rose Clarke as Glinda, Kathy Fitzgerald as Madame Morrible, P.J. Benjamin as The Wizard, Jenny Fellner as Nessarose, Etai BenShlomo as Boq and Tom Flynn as Dr. Dillamond. 

In addition to appearing in the San Francisco and Los Angeles productions of Wicked, TEAL WICKS has been seen in the National Tour of Pippin (Catherine), the NY City Center Encores production of Stairway to Paradise (directed by Jerry Zaks), the NY premiere of Fahrenheit 451 (Clarisse), the World Premiere of Turandot, Rumble for the Ring (Turandot) at Bay Street Theatre, and 1776 (Martha) and Pippin (Catherine), both at the Goodspeed Opera House.  Teal is currently in the American Repertory Theatre production of The Blue Flower.

KYLE DEAN MASSEY is currently starring in the Broadway production of Next to Normal. His previous credits include Broadway: Xanadu (Thalia), Wicked (Fiyero u/s). Off-Broadway: Altar Boyz (Matthew). Tours:Wicked, 1st national; 42nd Street, NorthAmerica and Japan (Billy Lawlor). Film/TV: “Cupid” (ABC), Sex and the City 2 (HBOFilms).

Beginning performances on Tuesday, November 2, ETAI BENSHLOMO will assume the role of Boq and TOM FLYNN will assume the role of Dr. Dillamond in the musical blockbuster WICKED.  They join a cast which includes Mandy Gonzalez as Elphaba, Katie Rose Clarke as Glinda, Kathy Fitzgerald as Madame Morrible, P.J. Benjamin as The Wizard, Andy Karl as Fiyero, and Jenny Fellner as Nessarose. Alex Brightman and Timothy Britten Parker will play their final performances as Boq and Dr. Dillamond, respectively, on Sunday, October 31 at 3:00pm.

ETAI BENSHLOMO is making his Broadway debut in Wicked. His previous credits include: Wicked (San Francisco, first national tour), the MUNY (High School Musical, Annie, Gypsy, Les Misérables, etc.) and Kansas City Starlight (Fiddler on the Roof). Etai has appeared in the workshops of Little Miss Sunshine by William Finn and James Lapine (Sundance Institute) and On a Glorious Day (Snapple Theatre). He holds a BFA from the University of Michigan.

TOM FLYNN’s Broadway credits include Juan Darien (Julie Taymor, dir.), How to Succeed…, Tommy (Des McAnuff, dir.). Touring credits include: Terrence McNally’s The Lisbon Traviata (starring Nathan Lane), Les Misérables (John Caird/Trevor Nunn dirs.), Evita, Chess, Wicked. Regionally he has had leading roles at Mark Taper Forum, Huntington Theatre, La Jolla Playhouse, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Center Stage, O’Neill Center, Studio Arena, SCR.
