27th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards Recipients Announced

New York, NY (May 6, 2012) – The 2012 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway were handed out this evening to recipients in 14 categories and 4 special honors.  Some of the best in New York theatre came out to NYU Skirball Center and the Rosenthal Pavilion to celebrate Off-Broadway and benefit the Actors Fund.  A complete list of the nominees and winners follows.

Tony nominated Best Musical, ONCE was the recipient of three Lortel Awards last night, including Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Choreographer, and Outstanding Lighting Design.

New York, NY (April 27, 2012) – The Off-Broadway League today announced this year’s host and several of the presenters confirmed to participate in the 2012 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway.  The 27th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards will be handed out on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at NYU Skirball Center, beginning at 7:00pm EST.  This year’s ceremony will once again benefit the Actors Fund.

Once leads nominations for a musical with 7; Tribes leads for a play with 6 nominations; Voca People to receive the award for Outstanding Alternative Theatrical Experience

New York, NY (March 29, 2012) – Nominations in 14 categories were announced today by the Off-Broadway League for the 2012 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway.  This year’s ceremony will once again benefit The Actors Fund.  The Lortel Awards will be handed out on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at NYU Skirball Center beginning at 7:00pm EST.

2011 LUCILLE LORTEL NOMINATIONS

Nominations for the 26th annual Lucille Lortel Awards, celebrating excellence in Off-Broadway theatre, were announced today. 

THE 39 STEPS has been nominated for Outstanding Sound Design (Mic Pool).

ANGELS IN AMERICA: A GAY FANTASIA ON NATIONAL THEMES has been nominated for Outstanding Revival.

THE COLLECTION & A KIND OF ALASKA has been nominated for Outstanding Revival.

THIS WIDE NIGHT has been nominated for Outstanding Director (Anne Kauffman), Outstanding Lead Actress (Edie Falco), Outstanding Scenic Design (Rachel Hauck), Outstanding Costume Design (Emily Rebholz), and Outstanding Lighting Design (Matt Frey). THIS WIDE NIGHT tied for the most nominations.

THE WHIPPING MAN has been nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor (André Braugher) and Outstanding Lighting Design (Ben Stanton).

ATLANTIC THEATER COMPANY has been honored with a nomination for THE COLLECTION & A KIND OF ALASKA.

MANHATTAN THEATRE CLUB Artistic Director Lynne Meadow will be honored with the Lucille Lortel Lifetime Achievement Award. MTC productions have been honored with two nominations for THE WHIPPING MAN.

NAKED ANGELS has been honored with five nominations for THIS WIDE NIGHT. THIS WIDE NIGHT tied for the most nominations.

SIGNATURE THEATRE COMPANY has been honored with one nomination for ANGELS IN AMERICA: A GAY FANTASIA ON NATIONAL THEMES.
