July 24, 2012 – The producers of Ghost The Musical announced today that the show will play its final performance on Broadway on Saturday, August 18th at 8pm after 39 previews and 136 regular performances. Ghost The Musical opened on April 23, 2012 at Broadway’s Lunt-Fontanne Theatre (205 West 46th Street), having begun previews on March 15th.

(New York, NY – April 23, 2012) Ghost The Musical announced today that a revolutionary interactive study guide has been created to assist educators in meeting Core Standards for English Language Arts & Literacy in History/Social Studies, Science and Technical subjects as set forth by the Common Core State Standards Initiative. Envisioned by writer/educator Paul Mroczka, theater professor at Plymouth State University, and All Tickets Inc., the study guide harnesses the power of interactive learning, the digital age, and includes unprecedented access to the original creators of a Broadway musical. Through embedded links educators will have the capability to introduce video clips, websites and production photos into their lessons. Video content ranges from what the Oscar-winning screenwriter Bruce Joel Rubin learned while adapting his original story for the stage, to how music decisions were made by Grammy Award winning songwriters Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard.

(New York, NY – March 12, 2012) Ghost The Musical announced today that a limited number of $25 tickets in the first and second rows of the Orchestra will be available through a lottery drawing for each performance beginning with the first preview on Thursday, March 15th. The lottery will open two and a half hours prior to each performance. The drawing will take place two hours prior to curtain giving all participants 30 minutes to enter the lottery. There is a limit of one entry per person, and two tickets per winner. Ghost The Musical lottery winners must be present at the time of the drawing and valid identification must be shown to purchase tickets. Only cash will be accepted to purchase lottery tickets. All winning entries will be checked for duplication and disqualified if more than one entry was submitted. Lottery tickets are subject to availability and will not be available on Ghost The Musical’sOpening Night, April 23, 2012.

Today (13 January 2012) Siobhan Dillon and Mark Evans join the cast of Ghost The Musical to play Molly and Sam in Matthew Warchus’ stage musical version of the Academy Award® winning film. Ghost The Musical opened at the Piccadilly Theatre in the West End in June last year where it has subsequently been playing to packed houses. Siobhan Dillon and Mark Evans join Sharon D Clarke as Oda Mae Brown and Andrew Langtree as Carl who continue in the roles they originated on stage when the production premiered. (New York, NY – September 29, 2011) Ghost The Musical, the newest smash hit musical in London’s West End, will open on Broadway on Monday, April 23, 2012 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theater (205 West 46th Street). Preview performances will begin in March.
This new musical is directed by Tony Award winner Matthew Warchus (God of Carnage, The Norman Conquests, Boeing-Boeing) and choreographed by Ashley Wallen (The X Factor, Kylie Minogue). Ghost The Musical is created by a team of Grammy and Academy Award winners, and features a brand new, original score by Dave Stewart (half of the multi-Grammy Award winning Eurythmics) and Glen Ballard (Michael Jackson's Man In The Mirror, Alanis Morisette’s Jagged Little Pill). Bruce Joel Rubin (Ghost, Jacob’s Ladder, The Time Traveler’s Wife) has adapted his Academy Award winning original screenplay for the stage. The score includes the iconic song “Unchained Melody,” famously performed in the film by The Righteous Brothers. Broadway casting will be announced at a later date. Ghost The Musical is a timeless fantasy about the power of love. Walking back to their apartment one night, Sam and Molly are mugged, leaving Sam murdered on a dark street. Sam is trapped as a ghost between this world and the next and unable to leave Molly, who he learns is in grave danger. With the help of a phony storefront psychic, Oda Mae Brown, Sam tries to communicate with Molly in the hope of saving and protecting her.
Set and costume designs are by Rob Howell, with musical supervision and arrangements by Christopher Nightingale, illusions by Paul Kieve, lighting design by Hugh Vanstone, sound design by Bobby Aitken, and projection design by Jon Driscoll.
Ghost The Musicalwill be produced on Broadway by Colin Ingram Productions Limited and Hello Entertainment/David Garfinkle,Adam Silberman, Land Line Productions, Donovan Mannato, Michael Edwards & Carole Winter in association with Paramount Pictures Corporation and ATG/Robert G. Bartner.
Nominated for an Academy Award for Best Film in 1990, Ghost became a blockbuster hit and an instant classic, winning numerous awards worldwide. The film starred Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore, Tony Goldwyn and Whoopi Goldberg and was directed by Jerry Zucker. Bruce Joel Rubin’s script won an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and Whoopi Goldberg won the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her portrayal of psychic Oda Mae Brown.
Prior to its West End run, Ghost The Musical played a seven-week, critically-acclaimed engagement at the Opera House in Manchester, England from March 28 through May 14, 2011.
