The 27th Annual Easter Bonnet Competition raised a staggering $4,250,542 – eclipsing the previous high of $3,734,129 set in 2007. The grand total was announced Tuesday after six weeks of intensive fundraising for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS by 47 Broadway, Off-Broadway and national touring companies.

The 24th Annual GYPSY OF THE YEAR Competition, the culminating celebration of six weeks of fundraising by 51 participating Broadway, Off-Broadway and national touring companies, raised $3,902,608 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

The GYPSY OF THE YEAR Competition, Broadway’s celebration of the tireless work of ensemble singers and dancers, will be back for its 24th year on Monday, December 3 (4:30 PM) and Tuesday, December 4 (2 PM) at the New Amsterdam Theatre (214 West 42nd Street). The event is produced by and benefits Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

High School Thespians Surpass
$1 Million Fundraising Mark

The International Thespian Society, the honorary organization for high school and middle school theatre students, has topped $1 million in money raised for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, it was announced last week at the group's annual Thespian Festival.

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA) is pleased to announce that 100 tickets to Newsieswill be available via lottery for the opening night performance on Thursday, March 29th. The ticket allotment has been donated by Disney Theatrical Productions, allowing 100% of the proceeds to benefit BC/EFA.  Beginning at Noon, patrons are invited to enter the lottery for 100 tickets; winners will be drawn at 12:30PM. Winners may then purchase up to two $30.00 cash only tickets to that evening’s performance. Winners must be present with valid identification at the time of the drawing.
