The cast of the Tony and Grammy Award-winning Best musical ONCE welcomes Paul Nolan to the role of ‘Guy’ beginning Tuesday, December 17.  Arthur Darvill will play his final performance on Sunday, December 15.

Paul Nolan returns to Broadway having last been seen as Jesus in the 2012 revival of Jesus Christ Superstar.

He originated that role at The Stratford Festival of Canada where he was also seen as Cousin Kevin in The Who¹s Tommy, Tony in West Side Story, Orlando in As You Like It and Al Joad in The Grapes Of Wrath.  Last year San Diego audiences saw him as Ben Nickel in the World Premiere of Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots at the La Jolla Playhouse conceived and directed by Des McAnuff and Wayne Coyne of the Flaming Lips.  Also in the United States he was Radames in Aida at Kansas City Starlight.  TV/Film: Will, Something¹s Coming (BravoFACT), Alex (“Shapeshifter) and Schumacher (“Strike!”).

ONCE is based on the 2007 Academy Award-winning film and plays on Broadway at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre (242 West 45th Street).  The production opened to rave reviews on Sunday, March 18, 2012.

ONCE won eight Tony Awards including Best Musical.  The production was also named Best Musical by the New York Drama Critics Circle, Drama Desk, Drama League, Outer Critic Circle and Lucille Lortel Awards. 

ONCE is the winner of the 2013 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album. 

ONCE features a book by award-winning Irish playwright & screenwriter, Enda Walsh (Penelope, Hunger, The New Electric Ballroom), the Academy Award-winning music and lyrics of Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, direction by the acclaimed John Tiffany (Black Watch), movement by Steven Hoggett (Black Watch, American Idiot) and music supervision and orchestrations by Martin Lowe (Mamma Mia!).

The cast of ONCE features Arthur Darvill as 'Guy' and Joanna Christie as 'Girl.' Also in the company are Adam Wesley Brown, Laurel Griggs, David Patrick Kelly, Jillian Lebling, Katrina Lenk, Brandon McGibbon, Anne L. Nathan, Andy Taylor, Carlos Valdes, Erikka Walsh, Paul Whitty, and J. Michael Zygo.

Arthur Darvill and Joanna Christie are appearing with the support of Actors’ Equity Association.  The Producers gratefully acknowledge Actors’ Equity Association for its assistance of this production. 

ONCE is now playing in London’s West End at the Phoenix Theatre where it opened April 9 after premiering to critical acclaim in Dublin in February 2013.  ONCE is also playing to rave reviews in cities around the country on a US national tour.

Andrew C. McGibbon

 

 

Andrew C. McGibbon has spent the past thirty years working in live theatre as a stage manager, general manager, producer and leader in the convergence of Broadway and online.

Mr. McGibbon worked as a stage manager and general manager for ten years. In 1994 he created a website devoted to live theatre, BroadwayWorld-Wide.com. The site was subsequently bought by, and became Playbill.com. He continued to manage the site for Playbill for four years. In 2000 he became the website manager for TonyAwards.com. With the 2008-09 season he finished his ninth year on the show. He has also worked as a webmaster for the Broadway LeagueJazz at Lincoln Center, and as the Director of Digital Media for the New Jersey Performing Arts Center.

Since 2015, Andrew has been working as an architectural photographer and virtual tour photographer known for his photography of theatres such as the Kimmel Center, Tanglewood, Signature Theatre Company, Roundabout Theatre Company, Arena Stage and the Goodspeed Opera House.

Mr. McGibbon is a member of the American Theatre Critics Association, the Independent Theatre Bloggers AssociationActors' Equity Association and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, as well as the American Society of Media Photographers

In addition to his work in the theatrical industry, Mr. McGibbon is also a partner in Simple Solutions Distributing, a manufacturer of filtration equipment for the waste-water industry.
