New York, NY (5/23/2013) – In a special ceremony at Brooklyn Diner yesterday, the famed Times Square eatery dedicated its giant 15-Bite “All Beef” Hot Dog to Harvey Fierstein, the Brooklyn-born Tony® Nominated book writer of the smash hit Broadway musical Kinky Boots.  The occasion marked the 30th Anniversary of his first Tony® Award nominations and wins for his play Torch Song Trilogy, and also celebrated the thirteen 2013 Tony® Award Nominations that Kinky Boots has garnered.

During the curtain call of yesterday’s matinee performance of Kinky Boots, Mr. Fierstein announced to the audience that they were all invited to follow him through Times Square to the Brooklyn Diner where they would be giving away hundreds of their 15-Bite Brooklyn Diner “All Beef” Hot Dogs, as they officially were renamed “15-Bite ‘All Beef’ Harvey Hot Dogs.”  About 200 audience members joined Mr. Fierstein in the impromptu procession from the Al Hirschfeld Theatre through the country’s busiest intersection to the Brooklyn Diner Times Square, where the restaurant’s manager Chris McCormack officially dedicated the hot dog to Mr. Fierstein in front of a giant banner that read, “Brooklyn Y Harvey.”
