TONY AWARDS TO PARTNER WITH WHERE MAGAZINE

ON COMMEMORATIVE 2012 TONY PROGRAM

New York, NY (April 17, 2012) - The Tony Awards announced today that they will be partnering with WHERE® Magazine to produce a commemorative Tony Program for the 2012 Tony Awards.  The Antoinette Perry “Tony” Awards, which are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing, will be broadcast in a live three-hour ceremony from the Beacon Theatre, on the CBS television network on Sunday, June 10, 2012.

The full-color program will feature highlights from the 2011-2012 season, as well as beautiful editorial coverage and photographs of the 2012 Tony Award Nominees.   The 2012 Commemorative Tony Program will be distributed to the guests at the Beacon Theatre and for the first time, more than 25,000 copies will be made available to Broadway fans outside of the theatre.

“The Tony telecast gives the community the opportunity to celebrate Broadway with a national audience,” said Heather Hitchens, Executive Director of the American Theatre Wing.  “This new Tony Program will give us the opportunity to share a piece of Tony Awards history with theatre fans all over the country.”

“We are very excited about the innovative new design of the Tony Program,” said Charlotte St. Martin, Executive Director of the Broadway League.   “What better way to pay tribute to an outstanding Broadway season, than with a keepsake commemorative guide which fans can cherish for years to come.”

“The Tony Awards are an American institution, and like WHERE magazine, they have a worldwide presence,” said Donna Kessler, President Morris Media Network WHERE Worldwide. “WHERE is thrilled to collaborate with the Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing to create a commemorative program that celebrates the incredible talent and artistry that goes into every Broadway production. We look forward to connecting with the Broadway community for years to come.”
