ANNOUNCES CALENDAR OF OFFICIAL TONY EVENTS

New York, New York (February 29, 2012) – The Tony Awards have announced the calendar for the upcoming 2011-2012 Tony Award season.  The American Theatre Wing’s 66th Annual Antoinette Perry “Tony” Awards, which are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing, will air on CBS on Sunday, June 10th from 8:00 – 11:00 PM (ET/PT time delay).

Thursday, April 26th 

Official cut-off for 2011-2012 Tony Eligibility

Tuesday, May 1st    

The 2012 TONY AWARD NOMINATIONS ANNOUNCEMENT, sponsored by IBM, will take place at The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Center at Lincoln Center.  A live webcast of the event will be available at www.TonyAwards.com.  A complete list of the 2012 nominations will be available at www.TonyAwards.com immediately following the webcast. 

Wednesday, May 2nd 

The annual MEET THE NOMINEES PRESS RECEPTION where the nominees will speak with media outlets from around the world about their Tony Nominations, will take place at the Millennium Broadway Times Square.

Thursday, May 31st

The exclusive TONY NOMINEES’ LUNCHEON, hosted by InterContinental Hotels & Resorts is a chance for the nominees to celebrate each other’s achievements and receive their nomination certificates. The luncheon will be held at the InterContinental Times Square Hotel. This event is closed to the media.


Saturday, June 9th

The 2012 Tony Eve Cocktail Party, hosted by InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, presents the Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre, as well as honoring our Special award recipients will take place at the InterContinental Times Square Hotel. 

Sunday, June 10th

THE 66th ANNUAL TONY AWARDS take place at the Beacon Theatre.  The three-hour ceremony will be broadcast live (ET/PT time delay) on the CBS Television Network from 8:00 – 11:00 PM.   The awards will be followed by the invite-only Tony Gala.
