I have no enthusiasm whatever about dying. I think it’s a terrible waste of time, and I don’t want to participate in it.

ANNOUNCES SECOND EXTENSION THROUGH SATURDAY, MARCH 5

Former “Saturday Night Live” and Comedy Central star Colin Quinn’s one-man show, Colin Quinn Long Story Short, directed by Jerry Seinfeld, will extend its run for the second time at the Helen Hayes Theatre through Saturday, March 5th.  Preview performances began on Friday, October 22nd and the show officially opened on Tuesday, November 9th.  The show was initially scheduled to end its 11-week limited engagement on Saturday, January 8th and was previously extended through February 5th.

“I am incredibly excited to keep working on this show,” says Quinn.  “It really has been such a  wonderful experience being back on Broadway and I am truly overwhelmed by the amazing response we continue to get every night.”

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to extend the production for a second time. We appreciate the theater-going community for their continued support,” says producer Eva Price.  Adds fellow producer Richard Martini, “We are looking forward to exploring the possibility of taking the show on tour after our Broadway run to several markets including Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto and San Francisco.”

Comically channeling the demise of great world empires, Colin Quinn uses his “articulate brand of comedy” in taking audiences through an uproarious history of the world in 75 minutes.  From his personification of Caesar as the original Italian mobster to his complaints about Ancient Greece and Antigone giving way to Costco and Snooki, Quinn is at his satirical best, taking on the attitudes, appetites and bad habits that toppled the world’s most powerful nations.  Colin Quinn Long Story Short proves that throughout human history, the joke has always been on us.

Colin Quinn Long Story Short has been dubbed the comedy hit of the season, with no less than five newspapers calling the show “hilarious!”  TIME Magazine says that “Quinn nails it!  A polished act.”  “Brisk and Seinfeldian,” says New York Magazine.  “A Delicious witty feast of ideas,” exclaims NY1.

Running 75-minutes without an intermission, the show is produced by Eva Price, Richard Martini, Bruston Kade Manuel & Will Dombrowski, Richard Winkler, George Shapiro, Matthew Salloway, Jack Thomas, Bisno/Frankel/Fireman, Dan Frishwasser, Avram Freedberg & Mary Beth Dale and Allen Spivak.  Ticket prices range from $59-$98 and are available through Telecharge (212-239-6200 or www.telecharge.com) and at the Helen Hayes Theatre Box Office (located at 240 W. 44th, btwn Broadway and 8th).

The performance schedule is as follows: Monday, Wednesday through Friday at 8pm, Tuesday at 7pm and Saturday at 2pm, 5pm and 8pm.
