2009-10 Broadway.com Audience Award Nominations Announced, Voting Now Open

2009-2010 BROADWAY.COM AUDIENCE AWARDS

The nominations, which honor the best of the 2009-2010 season on Broadway and off,
were chosen by online theater fans in 25 categories.

EVERYDAY RAPTURE has been nominated for Favorite New Broadway Musical, Favorite Performance by a Leading Actress in a Broadway Musical (Sherie Rene Scott) and Favorite Diva Performance (Sherie Rene Scott).

FENCES has been nominated for Favorite Broadway Play Revival, Favorite Performance by a Leading Actor in a Broadway Play (Denzel Washington), Favorite Performance by a Leading Actress in a Broadway Play (Viola Davis).

HAMLET has been nominated for Favorite Broadway Play Revival and Favorite Performance by a Leading Actor in a Broadway Play (Jude Law).

LA CAGE AUX FOLLES has been nominated for Favorite Broadway Musical Revival, Favorite Performance by a Featured Actor in a Broadway Musical (Robin De Jesus), Favorite Breakthrough Performance (Male) (Douglas Hodge).

LEND ME A TENOR has been nominated for Favorite Broadway Play Revival, Favorite Performance by a Featured Actor in a Broadway Play (Anthony LaPaglia), Favorite Performance by a Featured Actress in a Broadway Play (Jan Maxwell), Favorite Performance by a Featured Actress in a Broadway Play (Jennifer Laura Thompson), Favorite Breakthrough Performance (Male) (Justin Bartha) and Favorite Ensemble Cast.

A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC has been nominated for Favorite Broadway Musical Revival, Favorite Performance by a Leading Actress in a Broadway Musical (Catherine Zeta-Jones), Favorite Performance by a Featured Actress in a Broadway Musical (Angela Lansbury), Favorite Breakthrough Performance (Female) (Catherine Zeta-Jones), Favorite Diva Performance (Catherine Zeta-Jones).

MAMMA MIA! has been nominated for Favorite Long-Running Broadway Show and Favorite Replacement (Female) (Beth Leavel).

THE MIRACLE WORKER has been nominated for Favorite Broadway Play Revival, Favorite Performance by a Leading Actress in a Broadway Play (Abigail Breslin), Favorite Performance by a Leading Actress in a Broadway Play (Alison Pill), Favorite Breakthrough Performance (Female) (Abigail Breslin).

NEXT FALL has been nominated for Favorite New Broadway Play, Favorite Performance by a Featured Actor in a Broadway Play (Sean Dugan), Favorite Performance by a Featured Actor in a Broadway Play (Patrick Heusinger).

RAGTIME has been nominated for Favorite Broadway Musical Revival and Favorite Breakthrough Performance (Male) (Quentin Earl Darrington).

RED has been nominated for Favorite New Broadway Play.

THE ROYAL FAMILY has been nominated for Favorite Performance by a Featured Actress in a Broadway Play (Ana Gasteyer).

SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM has been nominated for Favorite New Broadway Musical, Favorite Diva Performance (Vanessa Williams) and Favorite Ensemble Cast.

TIME STANDS STILL has been nominated for Favorite Performance by a Leading Actress in a Broadway Play (Laura Linney), Favorite Performance by a Featured Actor in a Broadway Play (Brian d’Arcy James), Favorite Performance by a Featured Actress in a Broadway Play (Alicia Silverstone).

THE UNDERSTUDY has been nominated for Favorite New Off-Broadway Play.

A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE has been nominated for Favorite Broadway Play Revival, Favorite Performance by a Leading Actor in a Broadway Play (Liev Schreiber), Favorite Performance by a Featured Actress in a Broadway Play (Scarlett Johansson).

WISHFUL DRINKING has been nominated for Favorite Solo Performance (Carrie Fisher).

Not for profit company nominations:

MANHATTAN THEATRE CLUB productions have been honored with four Broadway.com Audience Awards including three for TIME STANDS STILL and one for THE ROYAL FAMILY.

ROUNDABOUT THEATRE COMPANY productions have been honored with eight Broadway.com Audience Awards including three for EVERYDAY RAPTURE, three for SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM, one for THE UNDERSTUDY and one for WISHFUL DRINKING.
